MD, MSc, DrPH.
I am a medical specialist in Epidemiology, graduated from the Universidad Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Colombia. I also obtained a Master’s degree in Pharmacoeconomics from Pompeu Fabra University in Spain and a Doctorate in Public Health from the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico. I specialized in cancer epidemiology at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France.
I have held various positions in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on the development of clinical research, epidemiology, and health economics in countries across Latin America, Asia, and Africa, particularly targeting vaccine-preventable diseases. This includes work with diseases such as rotavirus, pneumococcus, meningococcus, HPV, pertussis, hepatitis, respiratory syncytial virus, influenza, chickenpox, and dengue.
Since 2018, I have served as the Executive Director and Scientist of the Cevaxin Research Center in Panama. At this center, we conduct clinical and epidemiological studies for vaccine-preventable diseases, leading investigations into dengue, influenza, COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus, pneumococcus, polio, and norovirus. I have participated as a teacher and thesis director for master’s and doctoral programs at national and international universities. Additionally, I am a member of various professional organizations, such as SLIPE, APHA, ISPOR, APANAC, and SOEPIMO.
I have authored over 80 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and have presented at numerous international conferences.I have actively contributed to academia, serving as a teacher and thesis supervisor for master’s and doctoral students in national and international universities. I am a member of several professional organizations, including SLIPE, APHA, ISPOR, APANAC, and SOEPIMO.
