BSc, MSc, PhD.
My research interests focus on the ecology of mosquitoes and sand flies, as well as the complex host-pathogen relationship. Throughout my career, I have dedicated my efforts to understanding these systems, focusing on the development of innovative strategies for vector monitoring and evaluating the impacts of landscape change on the spread of pathogens transmitted by these vectors to humans.
My experience in ecology and molecular entomology has led me to play prominent roles as a principal investigator in various projects, especially those centered on zoonotic and neglected diseases, with a particular focus on leishmaniasis and arboviruses.
I´ve successfully led research projects, supported by a solid academic background, leadership skills and an intrinsic motivation to address challenges in this research area. My track record demonstrates not only my commitment to understanding the complex interactions between vectors, pathogens, and hosts, but also my ability to translate that knowledge into practical solutions and innovative strategies for the control and prevention of vector-borne diseases.
