Aaron Abouganem
MD, M.Ed.
General physician, marathon majors runner, and professor of Medicine at both the Latin University of Panama, his alma mater and Columbus University. His previous roles include supervising doctor of hospitalization wards at the National Hospital in Panama City and clinical coordinator of a retrospective case series study on clinical characteristics, management, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19 patients in private city hospitals.
Dr. Abouganem has presented two case reports at the American College of Physicians and Saint Thomas Hospital medical congresses. He has also participated in observership programs at the Critical Care & Organ Transplant Unit at the Mayo Clinic and the Endocrinology & Diabetes service at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has served as a speaker and lecturer at various university congresses.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Dr. Abouganem is an advocate for high-quality, humanitarian-focused, and evidence-based medicine. He is eager to join the Carson Centre to learn, consistently contribute, and actively participate in the surveillance and prevalence investigations of zoonotic viruses conducted by the team.
