Juan Antioco
I am currently working on my undergraduate thesis at Carson Center, focusing on studying the role of bats as hosts of emerging viruses. During my training, I have acquired experience in detection and identification of parasites through laboratory techniques at Universidad de Panama. I have also participated in research projects such as: the detection of Listeria spp., Escherichia coli and total coliforms in packed white cabbage, and rabies seroprevalence in bats with the Dynamics of Emerging Viral Diseases Group (DEVE)
With 6 years of experience as a Biology student with orientation in Microbiology and Parasitology, my long-term goals are focused on contributing to projects on arboviral zoonotic diseases, ensuring scientific advances that improve global human and animal health.
Academic Background: – Bachelor’s degree in Biology with specialization in Microbiology and Parasitology, Universidad de Panama.
